eShip Partner 25.01 Deployment
Help Wiki
The Deringer team has changed a lot about how we deliver changes to eShip. In the past we had (usually) 6 week cycles ending in a deployment with 3 hours of down time. You would receive release notes for that deployment.
This deployment is the first in many months that will follow that model. We intend that it be a rare occurrence. Most of our deployments now are done with no down time, deploying features as they are ready.
A missing piece has been that you haven’t been seeing release notes.
We are implementing a wiki within eShip that has a “Help” link from the top of the page. It will provide access to release notes for current and prior releases. It will also be the help system for eShip. It will document each functional area and serve as an online help system.
It is in its fledgling stage now. New content is being worked on.
Third Party Broker Access
Up until now, users for third party brokers have needed access to each importer account that they serve as a broker for. Now a customer account can be flagged as a broker, making it simpler to delegate and control access. A user who is working for a broker only needs specific permissions on the broker account. The user will have access to all files for which the broker provided service. This includes access to shipments in the Invoice are as well as in Analytics.
Products
Huge changes are happening in Products. This will be done as a phased rollout to provide opportunities for training. Most people will still default to the old Products screen after this release, but there will be a submenu to access “Products Beta”. If you like Products Beta, we can switch your default.
There will be numerous additional changes coming to Products in the next few weeks.
The first thing you will notice about Products Beta is that it is so much faster when you search for products.
Then you’ll notice that the speed increase remains as you edit a product, including when editing PG templates.
The PG templates are faster, better organized, and give access to a much more complete dataset.
